ABC Tree Men has over 25 years' experience in the tree services industry, and handles everything from emergency tree removal, hedge and shrub maintenance, spiral pruning and grinding services, to arborist consultations. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Arborist Technician to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position based out of the company's office in Burnaby, BC.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Arborist Technician will be responsible for providing groundwork support for tree trimming operations, including operation of a chain saw and the chipping and loading of trimmings and brush. The successful candidate will also assist the Trimmers and Foreman with job-site set-up, debris removal, cleanup and equipment maintenance, and will assist the Arborist with reports and field work, as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Completion of a post-secondary program in forestry, urban forestry, natural resources management or a related field, along with at least 2+ years' experience in a similar position. Successful completion of the ISA-Certified arborist examination preferred. Must have strong tree identification skills, along with general landscaping experience. Knowledge of and experience with safe climbing procedures is preferred. Must have demonstrated experience operating a chain saw and chipper, as well as knowledge of proper pruning procedures. Must have a positive attitude and work ethic, and be able to work safely as part of a team. Excellent English communication skills (written, verbal) required. The position involves travel to various sites throughout the Lower Mainland.

Compensation
The position pays between $25.00 and $27.00 per hour, based on education and experience, and on a 40 hour work week.
