Shuswap Property Maintenance is currently looking for a motivated individual who has the passion for the outdoors to fill the position of Horticulturist.

Located in Beautiful Blind Bay , BC. 20 minutes north of Salmon Arm. On the Shuswap Lake.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

Be able to maintain continued maintenance contracts and turf management, weeding, pruning, deadheading, planting and distributing mulch or other landscape materials.  Fruit tree, conifer & deciduous tree pruning, trouble shooting and assisting our other maintenance teams when needed.  Planning and ordering plant material, monitoring and control of plants pests, maintain a good standard of required daily record keeping.

A diploma or degree in Horticulture an asset.  A combination od education and experience will be considered.  Irrigation Knowledge and a valid pesticide applicator's licence would be an asset.  

Strong knowledge of plants,trees, and shrubs in our zone 5B is required.  

You must have a valid BC drivers licence and the ability to operate utility vehicles and lift objects weighing up to 40 lbs.

You must be able to communicate clearly with Management and staff be professional and courteous and be physically fit is a strong asset, reliable, hardworking and committed to doing a good job.

This is a seasonal/full time position which includes a full benefits package.  

The successful candidate can expect full time employment form April 1 to November 30.  

Compensation

Salary: $24,000.00/Annually

Job Type: Full-Time, Seasonal

Wages will be commensurate with level of education and experience.
