Urban Garden requires a part time Junior Estimator

This position is ideal for someone who loves landscaping and has a passion for design. You won’t be stuck behind a desk! In this role, you’ll meet with clients, perform site visits, create designs, and oversee / assist in the installation of the job.  You’ll work on a range of jobs from private terraces to commercial and condominium designs.

Duties Include:

• Performing site visits to obtain/confirm site measurements;
• Assist with the development of landscape drawings and details;
• Reviewing invitations to bid, construction drawings and specifications for use in preparing proposal estimates and bids;
• Contacting subcontractors and material suppliers to obtain quotes for inclusion in estimates;
• Joining the build team on installation of designs.

Requirements:

• Proficient with computer software systems including AutoCAD, MS Office and SketchUP;
• Ability to understand construction drawings, specifications and contract documents;
• Technical knowledge and experience in all forms of common landscape, hardscape and carpentry installations;
• Strong written and oral communication skills;
• Good knowledge of plant material.

This is a part time position initially with approximately 20 hours a week. As the season picks up it has the possibility of full time hours.
