Cox Cactus Farm is a wholesale grower in North Phoenix providing a large selection of quality plant material and exceptional customer service to landscape contractors and nurseries throughout Arizona. We are a fast growing company seeking a Nursery Foreman to help manage day-to-day yard operations.

As the working Wholesale Nursery Foreman, you will be working with and managing the yard labor while reporting directly to the owner of the company. This is a full-time position working outdoors all day in all weather conditions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage 6-9 employees effectively and efficiently
  • Manage production and propagation
  • Manage and treat pests
  • Irrigation repair and maintenance
  • Manage shrub and tree pruning
  • Greenhouse and nursery repair and maintenance
  • Manage maintenance of vehicles and equipment
  • Efficiently managing the loading of delivery trucks and pulling of will-call orders
  • Managing and ordering of yard materials
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and weed-free yard
  • Working closely with the sales team on plant availability and quality
  • Responsible for acquiring materials as needed
  • Other tasks as needed and requested by the Owner

This position has the following minimum requirements:

  • Must be bilingual – Spanish and English (if you do not speak Spanish, please do not apply)
  • Must be able to work and manage others effectively and efficiently – this is an extremely important requirement
  • Must have a clean driver’s license (some driving will be required)
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Must have nursery and/or landscape management experience
  • Must be able to identify most tree, plant, and cactus varieties
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, kneel and twist continually throughout the day
  • Must be able to work outdoors, regardless of weather conditions
  • Must be familiar with pesticides, fertilizers, and herbicides
  • Must have some basic electrical knowledge
  • Must be able to deal with stress associated with a fast-paced, constantly changing, working environment including handling multiple tasks at one time on a daily basis
  • Must be able to communicate well with others 

Compensation

This position is 45-50 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and pays $50,000-$65,000 (salary + hourly) depending on experience. Efficiency is our number one priority with this position.
